And PHEW am I glad it is done!
My DD's preschool teacher overheard me saying that I wanted to try this type of cake, but since it is SO MUCH cake and I didn't have anyone to give it to, I had been putting it off. So she offerred to pay for supplies if I did it for her...worked out for both of us! She wanted it for her DD's 22nd birthday, which was on the same day that her youngest was graduating high school. So the bottom tier is chocolate with ganache filling and chocolate fondant, with the pinks and purples that daughter favors, and the middle and top are for the graduate, in her school colors. I had to transport it without the top, so they put it on at home and did the fondant balls around the top/middle layer.
this really is great, i know i wish i could make everyone i wanted too that would be fabulous.
What a great cake! You should be very proud. I've been putting off doing one for the same reasons, but have just decided, thanks to you, that I'm just gonna do it! Luckily we're planning a block party in a couple of weeks and I just decided that the neighbors will be eating cake! Hey, I might get some business out of it too.
Thanks for the inspiration!!!
And I love it!! I have yet to attempt a one of these. But yours' is very pretty and very creative!! You should be proud! ![]()
