I heard someone say that the fear of clowns is called harliquinaphobia? I wonder if it's true...

Anyway, great cake. I love it!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments!

KellieRSM , You are right!, fear of clowns is called "harlequinophobia" or "coulrophobia" I learnt something new today!

lasidus1
, I did this free-hand. I marked out the basic shapes on the base icing with a toothpick, outlined with slightly thick buttercream. Then I thinned it out slightly, and flooded the shape, using a toothpick to make sure the icing reached all the corners. I did this for the face and the hat.

The 2 bags in a third bag: Used this to do the hair and the ruffle, for the double colour/shaded effect.

Basically, Fill two disposable bags with different coloured icing, cut the tips off and insert both into a third bag which has the tip you are going to use. Very Very easy. I learnt this from kittiscakes on another site.

I believe you can also get a double compartment icing bag to achieve the same look. But this worked for me.

aprilsloan
, thank you for the compliment. I'm sorry they make you uncomfortable. Only after doing this cake did I realise just how many people do not like clowns!

Thanks for taking the time to comment,
Karen

Finally, this is the end of the clown saga! For the last three weeks, my house has been full of paper clowns, ply clowns, painted clowns, a clown cake, and finally clown cupcakes.
This is for my daughter's class, a "thank-you" to all the children for the hard work they did for the fun-fair.
Thanks for looking,
Karen

Shamani,

I looked at your photos in the gallery. You have the talent!
I noticed you do a lot of edible images. Do you have your own machine?

Wow i love them. I've just made a clown themed cake not quite as colourfull but for a first birthday and she wanted it all pretty and girlie.
Wish i was that good too.
Maybe one day.

Thank Kicky. Waiting to see your pictures. I have been following your post on "Clown Heads".

TheVienneaus, I totally agree with you... Shamani's cakes are beautiful as are her cookies.

Shamani, the borders on your cakes are sooo neat, and the colours are so delicate and pretty. Really really lovely. My daughter loved your butterfly and flower cookies.

Thank you dolcesunshine20 and eliza for your nice comments.

The children enjoyed the cup-cakes, and my daughter was beaming from ear to ear. I was very happy that I could make her so happy!

Thanks all for looking and taking the time to comment.

Thanks for the compliment TheVienneaus and Karen icon_smile.gif but I do have so much to learn.

TheVienneaus : Yes I do my own edible images. Since these cakes are "cheaper" most tend to go with that and hence the reason for the numbers.

Regards
Shamani
