hi all, i'm about to try my first chocolate transfer to do an r2d2 cake for my hubby's birthday this weekend and i had a question about coloring the chocolate. i saw several different colors of chocolate melts at michaels this past weekend and i know they have blue but if i wanted to make a darker blue how could i color it? i've read that certain coloring products can cause problems with the chocolate so i'm a little nervous about coloring them. would a few drops of blue food coloring be alright? or do i need something else to make the blue darker?

You need candy coloring to color chocolate or you could purchase powdered food color and dust it with that..

Those are just my ideas..

if you use blue candy melts and black candy coloring.. you will get a navy blue...

Candy colors are easiest but you can color with regular if you use flocoat or shortening, it keeps the candy from seizing.
