Your MMF dried in 24 hours???? I must have done something wrong the last time i tried to make objects with it. (they were supposed to be beach lounge chairs, but ended up as towels in the sand!) I made them about 10 days before I needed them for the cake, and they still were pliable and would not stick together. I'm about to try some more this weekend, and I hope I'll have better luck this time. PAT
I make mine by hand because I don't own a kitchenaid mixer. It still comes out fine, it's just a bit harder to knead toward the end.
I think the drying time depends on the humidity .. I made some figures for my hubbys birthday cake and they took forever to dry { over two weeks}and were still soft to the touch in the thickest places when I had to assemble the cake..I ended up having to put a wooden skewer into the golfer to keep his head on.. It looked fine once on the cake though.. Other times my pieces have dried in a week or even less if they were smaller..

Guess I should have told you that the pieces I shaped were fairly thin and that's probably why they dried so quickly. I also found a great recipe for a small batch of MMF to play around with on a post recently and that's what I used. Here it is:
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 tbsp water
1 1/2 - 1 3/4 cup powered sugar
Pack in marshmallows in measuring cup, place in microsafe bowl and add the water. Put in microwave about 20 seconds or until they are soft and melted, take out and stir. It will look soupy! It is okay! Add the sugar and mix and fold (I did it with a wooden spoon) until most of the sugar is incorporated, then take out of bowl and knead the rest of the sugar in until you reach the desired consistency. I found I had to add a little more powered sugar to make sure it wasn't too sticky and I was able to work with it without it sticking to the rolling pin or the counter top.
Hope this helps!
