I am wondering about the drizzled frosting on this cake. My daughter has selected it for her wedding cake which is in three weeks, and the woman making the cake doesn't know how to do it or what it is made of.
If anyone knows how this is done and what is used I would appreciate it if you could let me know.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it 78165? That is hollysu's cake. If you look at the comments section under her photo, she was very generous in answering some questions by other members. She says you can use store bought chocolate fudge icing and add color. Also she says to get the effect, she warmed the fudge a bit and spooned it at the top. I'm sure you could pm her if you have other questions!
By the way, welcome to Cake Central! You will love it here!!

I added the link for you. I think you may get more responses if they don't have to search for it.
But she said she just spooned the chocolate on top.
It looks like dark chocolate ganache to me. Just melt Gharidelli dark chocolate with heavy whipping cream until you get the constistency you are looking for. Let it cool slightly before drizzling. It will drip down the sides nicely. The edges of the original frosting layers will need to be slightly rounded off for the ganache to have a nice drizzle.
Thank you so much for replying to my request. My partner dabbles in cakes, but I am not that creative so I have no idea. The woman who is making the cake is really good, but she couldn't figure out how to do it.
This is a weird choice for a wedding cake I know, but my daughter and her fiance are way into Corpse Bride and New Orleans. So... the cake you can see, and the rest is going to be a New Orleans theme, complete with voodoo dolls as favors. It should be quite the event. She will be thrilled to hear that I have the recipe.
You are a life saver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again.
