I've been filling in at our Temple's preschool for the last 3 months and there are only 7 more days of school! party.gif

Anyway, I'd like to give each of the kids in my class one nice cookie pop on the last day as a goodbye/have a nice summer type of gift, but I am having trouble coming up with anything. We have already done lots of flowers, sunshine and ice cream projects coordinating with various recent holidays, so I want to stay away from these.

I'd love to hear some ideas, please!

Thanks,
Kathi

What about a happy or smiley face?

How about flip-flops or a beach ball?

are you willing to hand cut the cookies? if so I can try and find a fun, fairly easy picture for you to use. Otherwise if you want a cookie cutter, I would think of a beach ball, a sand pail, a kite, little swimming pools, etc.

freddyfl, yes, I don't mind hand cutting cookies, especially since I only have 4 in my class. I'd just like to do something fun.

I saw some silly face cookies in the gallery that I liked, so that is one idea that I think I like. For some reason the beachy things just aren't doing it for me tonight. But please keep the ideas coming, maybe after a good night's sleep I'll feel differently!

Thanks,
Kathi

I think kites would be cute. You wouldn't really need a kite cookie cutter, you could just do it on a round or square cookie, that way it would be less fragile. I just did some for my nephew and he loved them.

here is a pic that I found for you in one of my scrapbooking books. I think it is cute and think I will use it for the kids bus drivers as end of the year thank you's. You are welcome to use it if you like.

The fruit is a cute possibility, icingandsprinkles. I'll have to think about that.

Wow freddyfl, I wouldn't even dream of something that complicated, although it is adorable. I thought you said you'd post an easy picture!!!! I'd hate to think what you would consider complicated. icon_redface.gif

How about hot air balloons? I did a bunch for my son's class at the end of the school year and they loved them! I made a bunch of diff designs and put them on cookie sticks. I also LOVE the kite idea from MelZ!! thumbs_up.gif

LOL Okay, I found an easier bug for you. Don't let the polka dots scare you...they are optional. This would be fairly easy just using basic colors to fill in. =)

Thanks freddyfl, this is definitely an easier bug.

I'm still not sure what I want to do, but I'm leaning towards the kites or hot air balloons the most. I was thinking of something to do with Grover or Corduroy Bear, because their two favorite books are "The Monster at the End of This Book" (Grover) and Corduroy, but I'm not sure I can handle that. I'd really like them to be really, really nice cookies, because I would like the parents to remember that my baking is my "real" job!

I'm going to try to see if I can find some photos of Corduroy.

Thanks,
Kathi

Wow!! Freddyfl! Those are incredible! I actually ran out of time, due to some unexpected school issues, so I ended up just giving them Elmo books as gifts, without the cookies!

Thanks for the ideas though,
Kathi

Thank you. I am sorry that you weren't able to get any cookies made, but I am sure that they loved the books!
