Found this cool picture I was wondering ! I can use for colorflow and how could I do it? do the white out like then the red out lines for the hearts then let dry the fill in the white spaces and then the hearts or the other way around?
sorry it would not let me attach even after saving it, let's hope this link works

That would look really sharp if you did the red hearts first, then filled in with white around them... but is this supposed to be edible? If so, then use RI with lots of flavoring added instead of color flow, because color flow is rank tasting! Ok, just my opinion there, wasn't sure if you'd want to hear it! Haha!
Oh yeah that was the plan I just don't know what to call it royal flow?
I like to flavor my RI with almond extract. thanks
what are you putting it on? i'm nosy. I would be scared to do anything too large because in my experience with color flow, its fragile. If you want to do the whole thing in colorflow, make the color flow but don't thin it. Outline the white and the outline the red hearts like you said on wax paper , let them dry and then thin it and fill. I wouldn't use RI only because its so much easier to have the same color red by thinning the colorflow.
If you just want the hearts on a cake, i would put the picture under your wax paper, outline the hearts and fill them, then transfer the smaller hearts onto your cake. Then you don't have to deal with outlining in white and waiting for it to dry before you do the red. hope this makes sense.
Well I have to design a weding cake for Thursday's class. It is going to be a tier cake, we are using the pillars, so I'm using roses and this plaque using royal icing, either put it on the top of the top tier or on the bottom and roses on the other tier not sure yet, ut I really should be doing the plaque or it won't be dry for Thursday's 6pm class what do you all think?
Oh, that sounds nice! You know what might be pretty? I am not sure if you were intending to lay the plaque flat on the cake, but if you made it kind of small (3 or so inches tall?), then used royal icing to glue it to a dowel, then use it like a cake topper, that would be neat! You could do roses on the bottom tier, and maybe a bed of roses around the base of the plaque to hide the dowel going into the cake. That would be so striking... especially if the roses were in that dark red color!!
Oh Melvira what a cool idea, I was planning on laying it flat it's requirement or our final cake so I need to use a color flow or royal icing plaque on the cake, anyways that sounds like a really good idea so I piped my plaque once it's dry then attach to dowel. Will a white cookie stick work too, I have both but white might be better. I really like the idea bed of roses like on this cake (look picture) but the heart would e sticking out on top right? Am I understanding what you're saying?
Yes, that's exactly what I meant! And yes, the cookie stick would be perfect! The white would blend in better with the icing, I think that would work out so well! Man... I can't wait to see this!! You'll have to post it here in this thread so I get the notice!! I'm excited! ![]()
Edited to add: You know... you could make two plaques of that heart and then stick them together with the stick in the middle so that it's pretty from both sides. You could even do it so that one side is a white heart with red little hearts in it, the other side could be the reverse... white little hearts inside a large red heart. That could be cool!
you are so creative!!!!!!! even better well I see what I can do, I have not worked with these plaques too well before, ut I do plan on making the hearts in the plaque and the BC roses to go with it a deep red! Hey Melvira what do you suggest for the bottom tier?
Top tier roses and heart plaque but the bottom tier, she would like for us to also use
sweet peas and implements all the different technique she taught us from all the other cakes for example: we learned ruffle borders, bead, shell, I mean you can see my photos anything that says it was made in class to take one or two more techniques used there, but I am so not a creative person I will admit in class I had help I will not take full credit or this I promise
Ergh... for some reason, I just posted and it didn't show up! Anyway, I was saying that it would look really neat if you did the ruffle at the bottom of both tiers, then did the small shell border in the red color! You know how you do that smaller shell border on the top of the ruffle... that would look amazing in red! It would make it pop and draw the eye to it! And on top of the bottom tier you could build it up with icing, then make a bouquet of red roses and red and white sweet peas that cascades down the front and sides. That would be really pretty! There are just so many possibilities!! Go wild and have fun with it!
I can't wait I will sure post a picture here, class is from 6-9 on Thursday I proaly won't take a picture until Friday when there's sunlight out, then I will post picture Friday thanks for everyone's help
