The little pearl dragees - how do you charge for them? They can take FOREVER to put on a cake, so the time is really the cost.

Also, do you charge for luster dust? If so, do you charge differently when you dry brush it on a cake and when you paint a cake with it?

You are right about the time. It took me about 40 minutes to get all the dragees on the 16 inch on the bottom of this cake....... the rest took me probably 45 minutes. So for this cake I spent an hour and 25 minutes and what would I want to charge an hour... $12 maybe so...an extra $17 plus the $5.00 I spent on dragees would be $22 bucks more. There were 200 servings so charge dragees at eleven cents a serving........ does that help?

Luster dust........... I'm still working on that one. I did add the dragees thing to my cake matrix version S though icon_smile.gif

I just take into account how much the materials are going to cost and how long the cake is going to take. I also take into account how much I'm going to enjoy the cake (I charge les if it's something I really want to do and will add to my portfolio) I charge more if it's a boring design or something I'm not keen on doing. At the end of the day it's got to be worth your while.
