Daughter's preschool class is studying community -- teacher asked if I could do cupcakes that are on the "community" theme for their end of theme party. Had a bunch of ideas but eventually I ran out of time so did the following....the kids and teacher loved it -- the cupcake with the glasses looks a lot like the teacher she was impressed....

Had a heck of time getting smooth cupcakes to draw on - tried a bunch of tricks from this site but still got sloppy ones -- think next time I will do rolled buttercream and cut the tops out....

Thanks for looking! Lisanne

P.S. we live in Arizona - hence the desert cupcakes surrounding

What a great idea! I have to remember that for some of my local events!! I love the way they look together, with similar colors... I don't see any sloppy looking tops! you did great! Everyone must have been really impressed.

Doug - I so wanted to do the playmat idea you sent me - had it ready to go and then the teacher changed her mind to cupcakes - thought about doing a cupcake cake with the playmat on it but hadn't tried one yet so went with what I knew instead...

the playmat idea will remain in my "yet to be tried" pile!!!

that's ok...

and trust me, a CCC (CupCakeCake) is very easy...just put a little dab of frosting under each, smoosh together nice and tight, then frost as usual
