I just bought some creme bouquet. Can anyone tell me how much they use in their icing and can you use it in cakes? I have never used this and wanted to try it.

Where did you get your creme bouquet? I've heard of using it (or creme royal) for flavoring but I don't really know what it is, either. I've looked at the local cake supply store and at the grocery store but haven't seen it anywhere.

It is a flavoring and I ordered it from the cake craft shope. I have heard of others adding it to frosting, the bottle just says "Professional Strength Artifical Flavor" It smells nice so I guess I will go by a little at a time instead of vanilla in my buttercream and see how it tastes!

You can buy from sugarcraft or country kitchen

Creme Bouquet Flavor:

A light butter-citrus flavor; Use in any recipe calling for vanilla in the same amounts.

Use 1 or 2 teaspoons in any recipe calling for vanilla. Imparts a light butter-citrus flavor; Suggested in icings, cakes, cookies, fondants, puddings, and fudge

Creme Royal Flavor:

Add a few drops to a 2 pound icing recipe or cake batter. A light butter-citrus enhancer containing vanilla and almond flavors.

(mad scientist here)

so could you approximate them by blending regular flavors?

butter+lemon for Bouquet?

butter+lemon+vanilla+almond for Royal?

I use it, and you have to be careful not to use too much because it has a lemony flavor. Just a touch for enhancement is enough. You can also get it at Kitchenkrafts.com
