icon_sad.gif hello people of the cake forums. i am new to this so please bear with me. a friend of mine is trying to make some sort of gelatine balls/globes or even spheres if you like. ha ha ha. she would like to do this to be able to put a perfect red rose in the centre of it for a very beautiful centrepiece. she has tried just about everything and just cant seem to get the texture or consistency right. half the time it just falls off the mould or doesnt set hard. can anyone please help or at least lead us in the right direction? icon_confused.gif

The only thing I can suggest would be to find a recipe for jello jigglers. They should work for what you are talking about. www.kraftfoods.com/jello should have the jigglers recipe.

thumbs_up.gif thanks for the suggestions. i went to the jigglers page and got some ideas, thinking now that for it to work properly the sphere has to set rock hard and be hollow so you can suspend a sugarpaste rose or something in the middle. the whole idea is to make it look like the rose in the jar from beauty and the beast (disney animation). my next thought is to maybe use toffee that hasnt gone yellowy brown yet but will still set hard as rock then to put the flower inside and seal. wallah its done. ha ha ha if only ever that easy. icon_cry.gif if we can ever get it to work the way it does in our imaginations ill post a picture.
