Anyone use them? Where would I find them? Also, has anyone used the molds that you put a chocolate shell in, then the cake? Which would you recommend?
This will be my very first time making them. I'm just trying them out to ship to my grandmother for her birthday.
Also, any recommendations as far as using poured fondant or candy melts to coat? Which works best for you guys?
As for the cutters, can't help on that one, but if you find some, please let me know. I use poured fondant. I have never used candy melts, but it seems like the taste of the fondant would be less overwhelming than the melts IMO.
If you are talking about the Tiffany Boxes from Kathy Scott, Yes, I have use them and love them.
I have the set from Kathy and I like them.

I was just looking at these on ebay today! I wasn't sure if it would just be worth buying a square cutter. I think they'll make any shape you want, I like the more diamond looking petit fours myself. hth!

The set that comes from K.S. have the copper cutters, a bag of Paramount crystals and some paper cups to set the petit fours in and the plastic molds that you pour the choc. in and the silicone tops. I don't like to make the tops out of fondant so I make them out of choc. clay instead. I think this set would probably be great for sugar boxes too. I also have her mini cake mold set that is also wonderful.
Sorry, I fogot. The cutters match the candy molds. One thing good to know is that Kathy us very helpful if you have any problems she will answer your emails.
As far as the cutters...im no help there.
But I definately would go with the poured fondant. As winjobit77 pointed out, its less overwhelming than the mels...and I personally dont like the taste of the candy melts SOOO thats my 2 cents ![]()
