My favorite buttercream recipe is all-butter--(Real Simple-- 4 sticks butter, 6 c. conf. sugar, and vanilla) --but this time of the year, its not that practical because everyone's houses are warmer and cars are hot for transporting.

Is there a standby that tastes close to the real thing? Is just doing half butter half crisco using the same recipe the best bet (although I've tried this and it wasn't that good) -- Or is there a favorite alternative?

Sure, I'll answer you Elvis. What a great question!! I think that half butter half Crisco is the best solution. Does better with the Summer heat. Does anyone else agree with this? icon_razz.gif

I don't know, but just having had a couple of disasters with summer heat and all-butter buttercream, I want to know too - I really can't stand buttercream made with Crisco though! icon_cry.gif
