My friend wants me to make a Chinese cake with a chinese take out box. I can handle the cherry blossoms but would like some ideas on how to do the take out box. I'm thinking of stacking some square cakes and trimming them and then covering in fondant so I can fold the top to look like a take out box....

There are 2 that I found in the picture galleries here on Cake Central. One by Lisa, and one by Stylishbite. They are both very cute cakes. Good luck with yours - remember to post pics!

sounds like a plan to me!

if I may suggest:

-- trim it upside down, for me an easier way to carve the slope
-- make a cardboard template of the slope you want so can easily check sides are same if not good at eyeballing it (i'm not)

and

thanks to Alicegop's work, you now know at least two people: Lisa and Stylishbite whom you can PM to get even more help and hints.

good luck and do post a pic!
