Okay, never done a FBCT and I wanted to do one on this little 6 in. practice cake I've done. I've printed out some small pics. (from the mylittlepony site) but I didn't know if I could really do something that was small, or if you usually blow up the FBCT images to make it larger so you can do the transfer....
Or does anyone have any tips for doing small images? I'm attaching one of them.... it is from www.mylittlepony.com (the image printed bigger than this, but it shows up smaller here) It is about 3 in x 4 in. I also have some that are about 3 x 3 1/2 in. Is that too small?
Happy 4th to you!!
I usually blow up the image to the size I want for the cake. Since your cake is only 6 inches those images should be fine. The only problem I have is getting that much detail in a small area. The larger the image the more space for the detail. (does that make sense?)
Also have you ever done the upside down icing technique? A 6 inch cake would be the perfect time to do both techniques on the same cake. ![]()
I have done two transfers about 3x3, check out the fathers day cake in my photos. The only thing I would suggest is make sure you are using a tip 1 or smaller for your outline. And a tip 3 or smaller for your fill in. They are some pretty small tips, but it makes it sooo much easier to work with all that fine detail.
