Hello Ladies-
I am making some cupcakes for the 4th tommorrow.I am making some chocolate and yellow cupcakes with the Buttercream Dream icing(thanks for the suggestion ladies). I wanted to do something different maybe a filling. I bought instant pudding will that work? I am so brand new at this. icon_redface.gif I wanted to put icing on top and then maybe red and blue sprinkles? Any advice on icing them, filling or just about anything would be great.Thank you ladies!

Oh and I start my Wilton 1 next month.I am soo excited!

Instant pudding would work for filling, or you can try to mix some of the buttercream into the pudding to give it a bit of a different texture. If you've got a pastry bag and a largish tip (like a #21 or #12) you can fill up your pastry bag with the filling (or use a zip-top bag with the tip), jab the tip into the cupcake, and squeeze till the cupcake starts to bulge a little. The frosting on top will cover up the hole on top icon_smile.gif Hope that helps, and have fun! icon_biggrin.gif

First of all, welcome to CC and the wonderful obsession of cakes!!!! LOL I have used pudding before to fill cupcakes. Just make it using the pie recipe. It will hold up better if it a bit stiffer. And.....MOST important.....only use a touch of filling. You will feel like you are not getting anything in there, but if you squeeze too much or too hard, it will break apart your cupcake. Good luck and be sure to post a pic...........

ok I filled my cupcakes with the pudding.I used a idea from the gallery where I arranged them in the shape of a flag.Really cute. I filled them around noon. The bbq was supposed to be at 2 so I wrapped them and left them on the counter.Well at 2 we found out the bbq will be at 5.So I can't fit the display in my fridge so I put it in my deep freezer. Is that ok? And now that I think about it do you think 2 hrs was too long to leave them on the counter? It is in my air conditioned house.Oh the icing was buttercream dream but I am more concerned about the pudding.Sorry to ramble. Thanks for any advice!
