I need help on how to make a green icing that is not leaf green or lime green. The only way I know to describe it is the August birthstone Peridot. Any ideas on how to make this color?

what brand of colors do you have to work w/?

i'd start w/ a lime green and add kelly green to it and maybe even a touch of yellow

(just remember this advice is coming from a man....and men are not as color savy as women supposedly...but hey we try! "biege" -- easy answer!)

HI

If you want that avacodo or moss green, you can use the leaf green with yellow and add a touch of black if it is too bright. This usually gets that green pretty well.

Good luck

hiya jenn,
anytime you want to tone down green and still have it looking fresh and vibrant, never, ever, add black, all black does is deaden a color, You want to add the colors complement, in your case you want to tone down the green, so the opposite of green is red, add just a touch of red and see how that works. It works really well to add just a touch of violet to yellow to make a lovely golden shade too. Just remember that to tone down a color you add it's complement or it's opposite on the color wheel.
Hope this helps
