I'm going to be using a 10X3 pan and it calls for a heating core. I was going to use the flower nail. I have never tried this before, but thought it sounded great because I did not want to have to spend the money on a heating core. My only problem is that I only have one flower nail. I need to bake this cake tonight and can't go out to get another one. I guess I could bake one cake at a time, but my experience is that the cake bakes more evenly with two pans in the oven. I have also heard of people using a can but I don't think that my dinky siccors can cute through a can. Any ideas would be GREAT!
I used a nail and after I washed it rusted through. It was my best one.
I would try and think of something else since physics wise there is not enough mass to make up for it. At lease that is what I was told by my brilliant BF. He normally is very right when it comes to science and computers so I would not risk the nail.
