has anyone ever added meringue powder to store bought frosting? i'm wondering if it would let the frosting crust? just for the icing, not for decorations. anyone?

Never gave it a thought, but if you try it, let us know if it works.....

I've never added meringue powder to store bought icing, but I have added store bought icing to buttercream that had meringue powder in it. (I was desperate, out of powdered sugar and didn't have quite enough icing.) It was fine. Did it crust? Not as much, I used a hot spatula, not the Viva method, to smooth it.
