I'm at that age where all of my friends are starting to get married. It's great because they've all said they're going to call me for their cakes. I got one of these calls the other day but we haven't met to discuss the details yet.

She's not one of my very close friends but I played soccer with her for 4 years and I've known her for a total of six.

I'm just wondering, what kind of "discount" do you give your friends, if any? I'd love to have some advice!

Thanks,
Rachael

With me it depends on who it is. For close family (like my nephews baseball party) I usually do for cost, close friends - a cake that would normally be $35 I give to them for $25.

I've wondered about this too. I think though that unless you just want to be really nice, a discount isn't necessary. I'm sure she's not expecting one-- and think of how many aquainences (sp?) will be ordering from you in the future! Maybe I'm a cheap-o but I give $5 off only to my closest friends.(And most of them insist on paying full price)

I've lived in the same town for my whole life and so I know way too many people to give discounts to everyone!! :O) -- I would start getting bitter after a while!! icon_smile.gif
