I know that many people do the doll cakes with the wondermold pan or whatever it's called. Does anyone know if there are heads for them of the princesses? Cinderella, Ariel etc. I was going to make some for my daughter's birthday coming up and haven't found any, but that doesn't mean anything.

I don't know about those heads. But I made one for my niece, and I inserted a Bratz doll. I know you can find the Princess Barbies, at Walmart, or here atleast. You could get one of those, take her clothes off and save for later. I wrapped the doll in plastic wrap to keep the icing off. Just inserted her in the cake after it cooled, and then iced around it. It was a very simple cake to do. If you need any other info, just pm me.

Hey guys! I'm so glad this topic came up - I'm doing my first doll cake this weekend, as Cinderella! I did find the Cinderella barbie doll at $9.99 at Target (part of her gift). I've read several people say they used the whole doll instead of just the top part, cuz most people take off the legs and just put the top part in. But I looked a the pan, and I don't see how you would get a full size Barbie doll in there? Do you have to cut some cake out to "hollow" it? I've seen a picture on CC where she put the doll on another round, cuz the doll was too long for the Wondermold pan.

Anyway, if anyone has any advice, I'd love to read it too! Thanks!

I use the full size doll. You have to add an extra layer because the wondermold pan even baked at full capacity is too short.I just dig out a little bit at the top and poke the doll right down.

At $10 a piece, I'm thinking part of goody bags. icon_smile.gif I usually just invite family for my daughters birthday party with the exception of a couple people. All my friends seem to have girls. Boy that's like 12 dolls. Yikes!

All you have to do is switch out the head and still use the half body doll. I think it would look much better.

PYXXYDUST..... I USED THE WHOLE DOLL IN MINE. I HAD THE BETTY CROCKER BAKE AND FILL PAN, I THEN BAKED A ROUND CAKE AND STACKED THEM TOGETHER.SHE IS IN MY PHOTO'S.

I THEN INSERTED THE DOLL, I MADE A SMALL HOLE AND STUCK HER IN IT.

I BUILT UP AROUND THE WHOLE WITH ICING, AND THEN COVERED THE REST OF THE DRESS.

IT WAS THE PERFECT SIZE FOR MINE, OOPS, I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT I USED A BRATZ DOLL. I DON'T RECALL RIGHT OFF, IF THEY ARE AS TALL AS BARBIE OR NOT.

I GUESS IF IT WAS STILL TO SHORT, MAYBE MAKE A SHEET CAKE, AND SET THE DOLL DRESS ON IT, AND PUSH HER DOWN INTO THE SHEET CAKE TOO, THEN DECORATE IT ALL. DOESN'T SOUND TO BAD TO ME. PLUS JUST THE DOLL DRESS ISN'T A WHOLE LOT OF CAKE, SO THAT WOULD TAKE CARE OF THAT PROBLEM TOO.

I HOPE I MIGHT HAVE HELPED SOMEONE. thumbs_up.gif

This helps some. how many people does a doll cake feed? I've never used the wondermold pan. I've only made them from cupcakes. I'm thinking a castle cake with the princesses on it. A heck of a lot less expense that way.

I used regular Barbie, but didn't use wondermold. I needed extra layer anyway, but it worked pretty well. For extra hight you can easily tort the skirt and the extra layer. I filled the cake and left it for 3 hours in the frige to cool down, then cut the top with crosslike the whole way down and forced the barbie in. it went pretty well. then but four stabilizing sticks through the whole cake and then cover it with MMF. Barbie was very stable. Since I don't have a car I walked with her through the whole town and down the old town. It arrived intact

Wilton doesn't make doll picks that are any of the Disney princesses. They are a standard blonde and brunette.
