Hey everyone! I am going to a Cakes for Catering class in the Wilton facility in Darien, Illinois. Has anyone been to a Wilton course at the facility? If so, what did you think? ![]()
I'll be at Cakes for Catering, too!
Yes, I've been there several times. What would you like to know?
The classroom has 24 countertop stations--like a science lab. Several sinks around the room and a pass through to the kitchen (standard commercial stove). The assistant to the director is usually responsible for all of the icing making (they use KAs) and some of the baking, depending on the class.
You can buy lunch at several places nearby--the Lemont St. Cafe is great.
PM me if you have other questions.

sorry i can't help answer your question, all I can say is I am SOOO jealous, there are a few classes I really really want to take there, but I can't travel a long distance atm, and of course taking time off work isn't easy atm either.
Let us know how it goes, I am curious as to what information you receive in that class.

Actually, I am going to Colette's class at the Notter School in Orlando in October and I am soooo excited. It is expensive, but I think I will learn so much. I cannot wait.
