HERE IS MINE PRETTY BORING! I CHOOSE NOT TO MAKE SHEET CAKES BUT THIS PERSON INSISTED. IF I DID WHAT I WANTED IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE SHAPE OF A FIRE CRACKER OR SOMETHING.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!

That is cute, Paula. I like to do sheetcakes, and they sell really well. Lots of people want them. In fact, I will save your idea!

I made this one Yesterday, sent it with my daughter to her fiance's house, and she told me to day that they haven't ate it yet, because it was too cute. LOL

Sherry, it is too cute! I wouldn't want to cut it either.

I'm making patriotic rice crispy treats this year. They are topped with white chocolate and I made royal icing stars to put on top. I'm going to a bbq qith 150 people outside and I figured these would hold up.

This is the writing I will be copying onto the cake...

Thougt I'd share, since it was the closest to the "classic" font used for that era. It's the Stockwell DB font. Not exact, but close.

Here is my fourth of july cake. It went over so well at the pitch in. Nobody wanted to be the one to cut it. They said it was to pretty to eat. Made me feel pretty good since I am new to cake decorating. The people at the pitch in were friends of my parent's. So that also added to my excitment that they really liked it.

Here is mine(Hopefully it posted)

Anyhow it is supposed to be Uncle Sam's hat. The brim and the colored paper were to close to the same colors, so it was hard to tell.

Anyway, I got called about 2 1/2 hours ahead of time, and was invited to a family picnic. So I wanted to show off what I could do, (not a whole lot yet, still learning). But this is what I came up with on short notice. Wasn't to bad, it was eaten atleast. usaribbon.gif[img][/img]

Here's mine--made just for our family here at home as a fun project. For the family party we're going to tomorrow, someone else is bringing the cake, and I'm taking a veg dish. Doesn't it always go that way? haha

ah well...It was fun to do, and it should be delish--white cake with IMBC and huckleberries in the filling.

It's a little hard to tell, but it's two little girls having a picnic and watching fireworks... icon_smile.gif

Just finished with this cake. It is for a family get together. It is a French vanilla cake, with 1/2 strawberry filling, and 1/2 raspberry filling. Stars are made from gum paste.

Every ones cakes look so festive, a lot of work went into each one icon_biggrin.gif Here's my best, and first, 4th of July cake, just for the family to enjoy. My 3 yr old and I picked about 7 cups of black raspberries yesterday so I used some of those to fill the white cake, then covered with buttercream.

These all are great! I love the picnic and firework scene. Spectacular. And the festive springy July 4th cake is perfect. I'll be saving those for next year. Thanks!

When I tried to think of something to do I couldn't come up with the things you did. If mine turns out even a quarter as good as these then I will post it. I've been having trouble with it(another post altogether) so I might just huck it.

brightbrats, I took a look in your gallery. Cute cakeicon_biggrin.gif

Check the size of your pic. You might have to resize to add to the posts in the future.

That's the only thing I could think of as a problem with posting in a thread.

Maybe someone else could help too...hope hope icon_biggrin.gif

The cakes all look great! It is certainly evident the amount of time that went in to decorating them all.. a real labor of love, isn't it?

I just posted my cake in the gallery, but do not know how to do it here. Zmama, I did end up using part of your saying on my cake. Thanks for that!Your cake looks *fabulous*..

Happy 4th to everyone..

Cindy
