I use some layers of cheesecloth bundled up, but I've seen people use baby socks before. Is your knee high clogged, maybe humidity clumping the cornstarch? Maybe getting a new knee high will help.

I use a handi wipe (those blue cloths you use in the kitchen that are semi-disposable) I think that's what they're called. They have 2 or 3 in a pack at the grocery store for a few bucks and each handi wipe gets me a few poofs.

Nic Lodge suggests using a diaper liner, available in the disposable baby diaper section of the grocery store.
