the durable cake or enhanced cake recipes? i've tried the cake mix w/ pound cake mix added but don't care for it too much. thanks in advance...

I started using it exclusively for 3-D cakes, but everyone raves about it so much, now it's all I use. If you're going to carve it, make sure you refrigerate it first. It becomes more dense and is much easier to cut. I let mine cool barely enough to get it out of the pan, then I wrap it in plastic wrap and pop it in the fridge. I think it helps seal in the moisture too.

I assume you can substitute different flavor cake mixes and change the pudding to compliment the cake flavor, right?

Absolutely! You can make a chocolate one with chocolate pudding too, I've never tried a combination that hasn't worked right.
