Some of the cakes I've seen on web sites and even here look just PERFECT. I was wondering if anyone uses photoshop to make their photos look perfect in the photos.

I never change or add to mine. What you see is what I did, good or bad. icon_lol.gif

I've noticed that when you take pictures of your cakes for some reason it hides a lot of your flaws. They don't always come up in the picture. Not to say that some of the cakes on here aren't flawless. But what I can say is "Show me a flawless cake, and I can bet the person who decorated it will find a flaw." icon_smile.gif

I use photoshop to edit out the background, but not for touching up the actual cake - if only I knew how!

My husband is a photoshop wiz but to be honest by the time I have finished making a cake I am not interested in spending even more time pretending it is even better.

You just need to use the best camera angle possible!!

I also use photoshop to edit the background but the cake should be what you did. And as Badeerah said the photos often hide lots of flaws.

Same here, I also crop and add different view to the same photo for posting. But I never touch up my cake. My BF has told me he can do it, but I don't want a touched up cake, I want to show what I can do and my improvements over the years.

I also agree with the comment that every baker will find a flaw with the cake they made, but everyone else may look at it and find it to be perfect.

I am fluent with Photoshop, but really feel your should not edit your cakes. We should all show our masterpieces as they truely are. icon_wink.gif

I agree.
Anyways, I do not like Photoshop, it is not a very-user friendly editing program for me.
Editing a picture defeats the purpose of seeing the cake for what it is, IMO.
