I would also love to know the answer. I have three kids with nut allergies so skip lots of recipes. Also wondering what others use in place of almond flavoring? Jodie

Being a peanut allergy sufferer all my life, I think I can help you guys out. In place of almond flavoring, I either use extra vanilla, or butter flavor. It changes the flavor of the cake, but you don't really have a choice.

There are tons of web-sites for allergies and they are all well stocked with recipes. http://www.peanutallergy.com/bbpage.htm
is one of the best sites-it's for parents of children with allergies and is quite useful-it is updated with food recalls, educational books, recipes, peanut free foods, businesses, research, doctors, support groups, dining out guides, safe and unsafe manufacturers, labeling info, and much more. It really is worth it's weight in gold for anyone living with allergies in thier family. It also covers other medical conditions that are associated with the dreaded peanut allergy.

http://www.peanutallergy.com/bbpage.htm is an example of the recipes
http://www.peanutallergy.com/bbpage.htm is an example of manufacturers good or bad.

I would highly recommend checking that site out-it's hard enough living with that allergy, and everyone can always use the support and advice offered there.. You can pm me anytime-I've lived with it all my life, and may have information that could help you.
