cake boards slightly larger than the cake i bought them for. They always stick out a bit and I want them flush to the bottom of the cake. When I try to cut them I get jagged edges. Any tips?

Get a razor knife...it cuts so nice and smooth, I can't believe I've been fooling around with scissors for so long!

ok so it's not just be then. I wonder why the cake board makers don't compensate for this and sell the boards like 8 3/4 inches? Would make life easier eh?
