Hello Everyone,

I got this recipe from one of the post. I made it and was very pleased with the flavor, however it didn't crust like the instructions said it would.

I copied, pasted and printed it out, so I know that Ididn't get the amount of ingreidents incorrect.

This is the recipe:

4 cups confectioners sugar
1 envelope dream whip
2 cups crisco
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon corn syrup
2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup boiling water.

Beat on medium speed for about 5 minutes. light, fluffy, crusting and perfect for icing a cake.

Now I followed these directions to the letter. It didn't crust.

I was going over the recipe and I noticed that it called for only 4 cups sugar to 2 cups crisco. Do you think that it should be 8 cups of sugar?

I will appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

My guess it too much crisco/not enuff sugar Is the problem. It happened to me when my kids were helping and we accidentally add 1 c instead of 1//2 c crisco. I thought at first it was just too hot, but even cooling in the fridge didnt help. It tasted great but it never did crust.
