How can I measure cake batter? i've tried using a cup before, but it seems like a lot of the batter just gets stuck on the cup.......... Any ideas? icon_confused.gif

I do not have a scale............. future purchase maybe, but there are so many other things to purchase!!!

I've wondered that also. I tried to use a cup, but thought that it was a pain to scrape. I have a scale that has a bowl, but then you have to scrape the bowl. Currently, I just fill the pan a bit more than half and cross my fingers. I'm sure someone has a better method!

Well, you answered your own question. The scale would be the way to go.

However, you could probably speed things up by using a wonder cup instead of a regular measuring cup! (Have you tried greasing the measuring cup?)

FYI: http://www.cooksdream.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?store_code=C&screen=PROD&product_code=NOR3046

Although I'm sure you can find them cheaper anywhere else.

BTW - I have a nice kitchen scale that I got at Service Merchandise (yeah, it's that old) for under $20 - and it really does speed things up!

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Try this link. It has a 2 qt. measuring cup from pyrex. I have one and I love it for measuring large amounts and it is so easy to scrape. HTH

I always just use my liquid measuring cup and a plastic scaper...I would say I usually get a pretty even and level cake...there is always a little to shave off...but i do want to sample hee hee icon_rolleyes.gif

When I have measured before used my 4 cup pyrex measuring cup. I also have a 8 cup 'bowl' from pamper chef.

Once you learn how much your mix/flavor makes you can usually eyeball it.
