Hi all. I"m a home baker that enjoys baking cakes from scratch. I'm trying to teach myself basic decorating just to improve the presentation, nothing fancy. I took a wilton I course years ago, but am just trying to practice in my spare time. How do I get the border to meet? I can start a rope or shell border and it look fine, but how do I get the end to meet the beginning without being noticeable? If anyone knows a site with pictures or video showing this that would be great too
. But any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I always choose a backside for my cake and start there.
I usually designate one side as the "ugly side" and start all my borders there to that any gaps or overlap where the beginning and end meet will be in the back.
I agree. Just start in the middle of the back & then it won't be noticeable. You sorta adjust the size of the shell as you come to the end.
