i was making my grandparents an anniversary cake and was going to use the 8 in and 6 in pans. will i need to use a cake board and rods between the two sizes, or will it work just placing them on top of one another? thanks in advance- jj

Just to be safe, I would dowel. After all your hard work, you'd hate to have something happen to it!

I would, only b/c it gets me practice. The smaller cakes are the ones I would rather practice with anyways. I have done one cake before and not doweled, but why take the chance =)
