Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to say that on Tuesday I saw on this post that Dillards had the empire red KA mixer on clearance for $135.

I've wanted a KA for the longest, so this was my chance. Only problem I don't shop online for anything. Well a long story short. I called a couple of Dillards store and asked if I they had any empire red and if I could get it for the online price. One store person said no, so the next day I tried the other store and she said yes, bring in the ad.

Well I went that very day. As a matter of fact I left after I hung up the phone.

Tried it last night and I'm so happy. I just love it. The batter was so smooth. Just awesome.

I forgot who posted the information, but thank you so very much for posting. icon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif

Yesterday I became the proud owner of a KA. I am SOOO happy icon_biggrin.gif It does mix the smoothest batter. I actually baby talked to mine and my husband almost lost it he laughed so hard. I got the classic 4 1/2 QT. I wanted the red one because red is my favorite color but hey i'm happy with white.

Its so nice making royal icing with a mixer that doesnt sound like its going to die and without smoking everywhere!! icon_razz.gif

JanH- I got it at a store called TUesday Morning. Im not sure if your formiliar with it? I was just shopping one day and noticed it...and went inside. Its much like a TJ MAxx/Marshalls type store. Anyways..I was just looking around and on the top shelf there were like, 5 brand new ones. I looked at the tag and about had a heart attack. Called my mom and had her come up and buy it icon_smile.gif (She was going to buy me the Artisian one for my birthday but I had her get this one instead) So I definately lucked out. Im pretty sure there are still some there..... icon_smile.gif

When I first said to my DH that I was going to spend that kind of money on a mixer he thought I was NUTS!!! Needless to say it is 8 years later and that mixer is still one of the best purchases I have ever made!

Good luck with your new mixer!

I don't own a handheld either anymore. Just my pink 5 qt KA. Love it! You know what though? I have 2 bowls (one is a 4.5 qt and the other is the 5 qt that came with this mixer) as my stepmother had bought me an extra bowl. The extra bowl REALLY comes in handy when dividing a batch of icing to flavor differently.

I would like a 6 qt, but it doesn't come in the same pink. icon_razz.gif

Jan H - I hope you find one!! THeyre SO nice..a very good investment. I wish I would have known...because I just got back from IN last weekend icon_smile.gif COuld have delivered!

Candy - Which pink one do you have? The light pink one or the fuschia one...crandberry one from Sears?

Im so excited..!
THis is kinda crazy..but Im getting a second one - the crandberry artisian one from sears (BRIGHT pink!). I dont really know why ill need two....but my aunt is buying it for me since im doing her wedding cake, and i am definately NOT complaining! Its free right? icon_smile.gif

Im planning on using the pink one when I get my own house since its smaller, and then just using the bigger one for all my cake stuff (since i have a separate location for my cakes)

I cant wait!
