I wasn't sure where to post this question so hopefully it's ok to post it here since it regards cake decorating...do any of you that make gumpaste flowers have an recommendations for books or videos/dvd's that are good but not expensive. I have the Wilton gumpaste book and a book titled "Sugar Flowers". I would like a good video or dvd showing how some flowers are made. I just don't want to pay what Scott Clark Woorley (sp) is selling his for. Maybe if I get better then I would pay his price.
Thanks for your help.

I would definitely recommend any of Nicholas Lodge's flower DVDs or videos, as well as his little booklet called A Potpourri Of Flowers. You will also need to buy the tools and cutters to reproduce the flowers. He sells all of those things at his shop, available online as well. But on the basic gumpaste tools I would check out Global Sugar Arts, their prices are a little less.

If you can find Rosemary Watson's you will love the flowers she makes...

I think you will pay as much for Rosemary Watson's as you would Scott Woolleys, I have seen A Baker's Dozen go for over $100.00 on eBAY. And I had all three of hers, in my opinion they were not as good as Nicholas Lodge's work. I do have to thank Rosemary though because hers were the first I bought and this is what started my interest in making gumpaste flowers. It's just that they are a bit dragging, the quality of the film and the audio are not very clear and most of all, you can no longer buy her cutters and veiners to recreate the flowers on her tape.

I looked at a friend's Scott Wooley and Alan Dunn and I didn't like them as much as my Nicholas Lodge.... Nice clear instructions, pictures, etc.
