I'm wondering what the best kind of wire to use when you want to make fondant decorations (like stars) that'll be stuck in the cake? I know that the decorations would be heavy...and that you should insert a straw into the cake first and then the wire into the straw..
I'm rambling 
...to sum up: what is the best gauge/type of wire to use for this?

You can purchase floral wire from the craft store. They sell it cut in lengths - I can never straighten out the one on a spool! I'm not sure which guage, but the higher the guage, the thinner the wire.
