Anyone know where I can find cheaper or bulk cookies sticks? I am sick of relying on Michaels or Joanns (Wilton's) only! I do orders for up to 200
cookies and it gets really annoying waiting for coupons. Because they only let you use a couple per order. What a game!!!I know someone will have an answer, I get alot of help here!!!!Thanks in advance!!!!

A lot of us use skewers. You know, the wooden ones used for shish kabobs? They are 100 per pack and their under $2.00 at Wal Mart. I just snip off the pointed end.

Same here, I don't snip off the entire point on mine b/c I like a little bit of a point b/c it makes it easier to slide in the cookie, I just make sure it is a dull point.

Also really easy to cut so I can change the height of my cookies as I am making the boquet and not try to figure out what length I need them to be before I put them in the cookie,

HTH

I notice alot of you use the skewers, I think my cookies are too heavy for that but I will tryi t. Also, I see some of you use the Wilton Candy Sticks, they come in a larger pack and are cheaper. But they say Do Not Bake! Is it OK??? What if I put them in after baking???

I had very heavy cookies--the large daisy cutter cookie that comes in a pack of 5 by Wilton. I made the cookies extra thick and they were fine. I did however, slide the stick out, squeeze some royal in the stick hole and then put the stick back in just to be sure the cookies did not move.

I make very heavy cookies as well and bake with the cookie sticks in. So far I haven't had a problem (I'll keep my fingers crossed icon_eek.gif !). I've done both and prefer to bake with the sticks in, personal perference.
Caketopia I've done that to with the royal, works like a charm!!!!

Skewers are by far the cheapest way to go. If you bake the cookie with the stick in, or insert the stick *right after* taking them out of the oven, the cookie will cool around the stick and... I dont know... Shrink to it is what I want to say, but thats not it... Anyway, its pretty sturdy. If you're worried about heavy cookies (though I've never had a problem with it, & I've done some pretty big cookies on the skewers), they're super thin & tiny! Just use two!
