I agree with everyone else that you should probably let this one go, even if they could pay more. Also, you would need to buy a 20 and 18 inch half circle which would run you a total of about 65.00. If you are doing double layers that means 4 oven runs just to make one of the big cakes.
and that's if you can even fit a 20" into your oven, which most people can't unless they have commercial.
Well, this is really someone trying to SH%t above their A#s. ( as my grandfather would say). I think that they need a reality check, and I think that they will get one when they see that no one will do the cake for the amount that they are willing to pay. How do you get a guest list of 450 and yet not enough money to pay for a cake? I think that someone is in dream land..
As for organizing a party and still being in high school, well, I am 32 now and I have been organizing partys since I was in high school. I think that you either are born with it or not. The creative part of me has spilled onto by 11 year old daughter and most people think that she has great ideas and I am not just saying that, she really does.
I guess that this is a leson learned. If I get a budget I give them only the pictures of cake that will fit with there budget. Now if there is an open checkbook and no limit then I pull out my top of the line pictures I know that I will get my moneys worth. Maybe that is an ides for you. Sort out your pics by price. I do and it works. If they see all the books then they know that the price will change or the cake will.
I hope that I was of some help.
