Hi everyone,
Recently the subject of baking and the wearing or not wearing of Hair Nets has come up. I would be very interested to see how many of us do or do not wear a Hair Net when we bake.

Thanks for your honesty,
Lazy_Susan

No I don't wear a hair net, but I do pull my hair back in a pony tail and hairspray the front then put my ball cap on just like I would when I mow grass except it is a good hat icon_smile.gif. Keeps any kind of hair from falling and I don't have to mess with it, least of my worries needs to be my hair.

I have long hair, so I just tie it back in a bun.

I pull my back in a ponytail. I work in food and deal with the health inspector and the requirements( in my area) are that you hair must be pulled back off your face and not fall forward if you lean over.

If I am at home doing them, then I just pull my hair back.

I have long hair, so I always twist it up pony tail/bun style and then use a large clip/comb to hold it in place.

No I don't wear a hair net but I do put it all back. I freak when I see a pastry brush "hair" in my pan. I double check for those!

No hair net. I brush my hair into a ponytail cover with a bandana then I have my honey check and make sure there are no loose hairs hanging on my clothes then I sweep and mop around my cooking area. Wipe all the surfaces down. I know I am anal about it but finding a hair in my food really grosses me out and I worry about people finding one in my cake!!! Same routine when I ice and decorate the cakes.

WGOAT5, never thought of the hairspray, good idea!

No hair net, but I do braid and use hair clips to keep my hair tamed and out of the food. (I rarely wear it down, but when I do, it's about waist-length.)

I wore a hairnet when I worked at Publix. At home, my hair is always balled up on the back of my head. 99% of my cakes are for family and friends, so I don't really think about it. If I had a true business going, I'd most likely wear the hairnets and gloves, too.
