I am doing a topper cake for a cupcake stand -- the cake is a half circle that is BCed like the Earth -- I want to suspend the sun somehow above it (obviously out of proportion) - do you think a dried fondant sun would be too heavy for a heavy gauge wire - all I have is floral wire right now but will buy some heavy gauge...? What do you think?

I always tend to do the "easy" thing and the first thing that popped in my head was -- printing a sun out on heavy cardstock and stick that in with a skewer or something.

I don't know how fancy your cake / cupcakes are though. HTH

I like the idea of the foam ball covered in fondant.........shouldn't have any issues holding that up with wire!
