I think there was one posted to the gallery recently that you could look at.
I've done basketweave on rectangles and hexagons. The corners are the tricky part. Here's what I've learned: Start your basketweave in the middle of one of the sides, not right by a corner (don't forget to double your first line!). Also, when you make your divisions, don't use the corners as division marks. The basketweave will look much nicer if there's not a vertical line right on the corner.
I don't know how much experience you have basketweaving, so I'm going to throw this in, too--For me, the quicker I pipe each line, the better the basketweave looks. If I hesitate or take my time piping a line, it looks bad.
If you look in my pictures, the Easter baskets are basketweaved (using the corners as division marks) and Isaiah's birthday cake is basketweaved (not using the corners as division marks).
Good luck!
You sure can...I just made a 12" square cake last night with two toned basketweave. Take a look at the first picture in my gallery.
