My son's "UN-Birthday" at school is the Tuesday after Memorial Day. We are going camping this weekend, and we do not anticipate being home until late on Monday night. Can I make his cupcakes Thursday (we are leaving Friday morning) and decorate them, freeze them, and then thaw them on Monday night when we get home? Will they be nasty? I would use BC. He wants soccer ball cupcakes with grass. Also, do you think the color will bleed?

What if I used fondant?

Thanks in advance!

I have done this before with all chocolate so I can't answer as to the BC bleeding, though I would think not. I can say that the cupcakes will dry out much faster than usual, but if you eat them soon after they defrost they are still moist. The cupcakes I did it with were just so I could have a treat every now and then so they stayed in the freezer for a few weeks before we finished them all off. I have no clue about the fondant aspect either, sorry, but I do hope this helps you some. icon_smile.gif

I ended up with cupcakes from a store, due to high drama with baking and sprinklers. (sigh) Oh well. Thanks for the knowledge anyway.

I can't really help you on the shade of brown. I always get a dog poop color. yummy. I know that SOME bc recipies can sit out all night and some need to be refridgerated. All need to be covered, though.

It is Tuesday, how did they turn out?

Sorry I didn't see this before.. I would have just premade my icing and left it in the fridge, and sealed the CC's in a bag and not freeze them, I think they would have been fine! Or you could have taken them camping icon_smile.gif but none the less, I hope he had a blessed day!

Sugarbakerz, thanks for replying. It is too late for me, my son got walmart cupcakes, but they are the kind that are all in the form of a gian spidey face, so he will be okay. It is only his UN-birthday. For his real birthday in july, I am trying to figure out how to make a gameboy SP. The only thing I can't figure out is how to make the screen that come up. HHHMMM..

What I wanted to tell you (before I got distracted, I must have ADD) was that I love your signature, sugarbakerz.
