Need Ideas For Red, White And Blue For 10Yo Boy

One of my friends girlfriends wants a cake for her son who is turning 10, she told him she wants it to be red white and blue since it is so close to the 4th, How can I incorperate a 10 year old boys birthday with the 4th?
Any ideas, he's going to talk to her and get more details on what she wants, not even sure if they want a sheet cake or round(hopefully).
Boys love fireworks, firecrackers, maybe something like that??
How about a starburst, in red white and blue - i'll see if i can find a photo.........
