My best friend's birthday just passed but I haven't seen her yet and wanted to make a small cake for her since I'm sure she didn't get one. She loves lemon meringue pie and I usually make one for her on her birthday, but want to try something different this year...also get some practice 
Anyone have any suggestions on cake/filling/frosting combinations to get a nice lemony (but not too lemony) cake? Recipes are welcome as well as reviews/opinions/tips, etc.
