Hello all,
First, I would like to say that all of you are the most talented bunch of people I have come across. The work on every cake I have looked at is just amazing. I am starting out in the cake decorating world and would like to see it grow, but will be happy just decorating if that's all that happens. I have never taken any cake classes, but I love to watch them be made and looking at pictures. I plan on taking the first class, just waiting to hear from the instuctor if she will allow a 13yr. old to come with me as he wants to learn as well. I have been making the Wilton children's cakes since my first son was born in 1993 he is going to be 13(can't believe that), I now have 2 sons and 2 daughters. I also homeschool all of them. They love to decorate cakes as well. I live in the Houston area, and well I guess I just look forward to being part of your community. I have already learned many great things just spending the last week and a half going through the pictures and all the post I could read. I look forward to getting to "know" you.

Tammy

Welcome, and Wilton courses take folks of all ages...my class had a 7 year old there with her mother (the daughter was a better decorator!).

Hello and welcome to CC!!!! You will be addicted before you know it! icon_lol.gif I love this site. You know, I have never taken a class before either. I got the wilton yearbooks and just tried stuff. I have yet to take on fondant, but now that I have found the MMF recipe (marshmallow fondant) on this site, I want to try it. You should have seen how upset my husband was when I told him I was going to be making a few practice cakes and he'd have to be my guinea pig!! LOL icon_lol.gif

Welcome again and hope you can post some pics soon.

God Bless, Donna

Welcome! You and your daughter should have a blast in the classes. I love having parent and child students in my classes. It is amazing what sponges the kids are for sucking up all the decorating knowledge! Good luck and have fun!

Hi Tammy and Welcome to C.C. I'm an Ex-Houstonion now living in S.A., DH's (Dear Husband) job keeps us moving. My 21 yr.old DD,(Dear Daughter) and I share this Membership. We also share our first name, Gloria, hence our member name "Morningglories". We have both just started decorating seriously this month. Tomorrow we finish Course 1 in our Wilton Classes. I have a sister who has been a baker/decorator for 26yrs. However due to Carpal Tunnel in her wrist and shoulders she is passing down her wisdom and supplies to my DD. With that incentive we have delved into this craft and art form. I'm the support and creative consultant, while DD is the Baker/Decorator of all the Pic's we have posted, unless otherwise noted. I know that no matter where you go with this venture you will not be diapointed. Enjoy your creation and once again Welcome!
