Air Bubbles In The Buttercream...making Me Crazy!

Hello all!
I know I'm not the first to ask this question...how in the world do I rid myself of air bubbles in the buttercream? I have tried mixing slow for a short time. I've tried mixing fast for a long time. I've tried mixing all of the confectioner's sugar at once (after mixing the butter & shortemning). I ALWAYS get the same results...BUBBLES.
Does anyone know something that I don't? Does using a coffee creamer/water mixture help with this...I DON'T KNOW!!!!
I know that there will always be some and that there is no flawless icing other than fondant, but if anyone can shead some light on this I will be forever grateful.

here's a bump ... i have the same issue and it really ticks me off ![]()
Read Sugarshack's "Buttercream tips". She has awesome cakes and gives many tips on how to get the bubbles out. I just did a search on buttercream tips and it came up. Hope this helps.
Hopefully someone can help us. I've been told to only use the flat beater, mix on low. I've also tried doubling my recipe, which fills the bowl of my KA to overflowing and still had the problem. Someone mentioned that keeping the beater covered, no air will get in. :'(
I get air bubbles too. So what I do is after I am finished mixing in my KA, I take a big spatula and smash the icing along the sides of the bowl in long strokes. It only takes a couple of minutes, and I can actually see the air bubbles popping, and you can see the frosting smooth out.
Hope this helps.
