Just finishing the ballerina cookies and I need to make brown hair.

Opened my Wilton brown paste (that I haven't used in a LONG time) and eek, it made the icing olive green icon_surprised.gif . Don't want the poor little ballerinas to look like they had a bad dye job icon_rolleyes.gif

Obviously it's too old or something is wrong with it. How can I make brown?

I have lots of colors but don't know what to mix to get a color that looks like brown hair. I'm doing them tonight so no time to run to Michaels.

Thanks.

I always used chocolate frosting for my brown. If you don't have any in a can, just use bakers cocoa mixed with your buttercream. Make a very small batch for the deepest color. For hair I usually use a small star tip, like 16, and just pipe in the directions the hair would naturally go.

If you want to look at my "people" cakes, here's the link:

I tried to click on a couple of good "hair" cakes; but I'm not sure youc an see that clearly. Sending you the whole album will let you pick which you want to see of close-up of.
