Hi all! I hate to ask this, because I'm sure it's been covered at some point. However, after doing data entry most of the day, I can't read the computer for very long without bringing on a horrible headache, so I'm hoping someone can help...

I'm considering getting some of the beautiful fondant lace molds. I've been drawn to them for quite some time, and have been trying to decide where best to spend my decorating dollars. icon_smile.gif

Does anyone have these molds? Care to share your experiences, either in PM or on the forum? Any advice? Are they worth the cost, or no?

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from folks! icon_smile.gif

I'd like to know also. If they are worth investing in, where is the best place to purchase them?

Well, as you have probably found out, there are a zillion places online to purchase them.
I would suggest Caljava.com, First Impressions, Global Sugar Art and Sugarcraft.com (I am one of the few here that has not ever had a problem with them and their service).
I have not used the lace ones but have used the flowers and other ones and depending on whether you use straight fondant or 50/50 gumpaste with fondant, they're a lot of fun! Straight fondant just takes a bit longer to dry and with some of the molds, it's a bit heavier.
Good luck with your shopping and have fun!

here's a tip for using these molds ... put fondant in mold then stick them in the freezer for 5-10 mins and the fondant comes out really easily and cleanly.....less waiting time!!! icon_lol.gif

Are you talking about the blue two piece ones? I have a few of them and I like them. I find if I "blop with my poofy" the inside of the mold first the fondant comes out with no problem. Autumn Carpenter was showing me how she works with them and she does the same thing except she dusts the mold with a lustre dust before putting the fondant in it and when it comes out it's already shimmery. icon_smile.gif
