I'm going to break down and buy a KitchenAid mixer - my old hand mixer has seen better days. Any advice on which one to get? i've been looking at the Artisan or the 5Qt Professional - any major differences?

Thanks.

I actually just upgraded to the 6qt. professional, much more power and the price was great. If you get the coupons from Bed Bath and Beyond or Linens and Things you can get 20% off and I had a $30 mail in rebate making the 6qt. CHEEPER than the 5qt. professional! I needed more power and a larger bowl. If you can, get the professional of which ever size you can afford.

Oh I LOVE my Kitchen Aid mixers! I had a hamilton Beach and another brand that I can't remember before upgrading to KA and would never go back! Mine is the Artesian Series! Best of luck! It is a purchase you will not regret~

I also have the 6 qt pro and it is wonderful! One cool thing I just discovered it that it will also accomodate the 5 qt bowl (beater are different sizes) which is helpful if you needed a smaller amount of something like different icings. Another thing to consider is a KA refurbished model. KA's refurbs are restored back to top quality for less cost. If you don't mind a scratch here or there, this could be a way to save some money. Good luck! thumbs_up.gif
