Okay I have two weeks till my daughters 2nd birthday bash and I need some help
First I want to have a blue punch for the kids, her party is a beach / fish theme,
Id like to have gummy fish swimming in the punch some how, I was thinking freeze the fish inside the ice cubes, or make jello cubes with fish in it to float in the punch. BUT its an outside party and I live in florida so it will be hot any ideas?
Also Im making a cake its to look like three presents stacked on top of each other, anyway, when should i make the cakes, how far ahead, should i freeze them before icing, ill be icing with butter cream and using rolled fondant for decorations, i wont decorate till the morning of the party.
Im doing baby food jars filled with jello and one gummy fish as name tags for the place hokders to look like fish bowls, i bought blue jello but worried it might be too dark to see throught any suggestions to lighten it up????
Blue punch recipes:

Make a few ice cupe trays with blue kool-aid and put one fish in each cube... take them out a couple at a time. OR Freeze 2-3 bowls (cereal bowl size?) of kool-aid and do the same. These will last longer in the heat, but the fish will all swim together. Add more frozen when the first melts.
For when to make the cakes, etc, there are topics on here if you search that list all that.
For the babyfood jars, they should be small enough that they won't be too dark. Otherwise, you can use blue water, just tint with food coloring for how dark you want, measuring in one of the jars to see how dark it really is in small proportions. You can save the jello to make finger cubes, using half the water as the directions call for, then set fish in each piece right before it sets so they don't sink to the bottom.

I wonder if you could find some of those plastic ice cubes with water in them that you freeze (do you know what i mean?) in fish shapes?? for your punch.
I doubt blue jello would be too dark, but I am not sure
As far as when to bake and decorate: If you have room in your freezer, you could bake now and freeze your cakes (wrap in saran then in foil. I just leave it all wrapped until thawed.) I have never iced a frozen cake-I am not sure if that is what you are asking about. You could just ice and decorate the day before-It would be fine until the next day. I do think cakes that have been frozen after cooling are even moister. Good luck
okay well i plan on making the cake about 3 days before, freezing it and then I would like to decorate that morning before the party, when should i take it out, I want to decorate it at 9am satrday morning.
