I am a new member and just a few days back I had ran across a suggestion someone had made on a filling that used a fruit spread like Polaner and Jello in a matching flavor. My computer froze up and I had to reboot and can't recall where I saw it. icon_redface.gif I have been up for two days on here searching forum topics and have not come across it again icon_cry.gif If you happen to have the recipe could someone please post it for me again or point me in the right direction? Thank you so much.

I have used Jello in less expensive jams and it still turned out great.

I, however, put the jam and jello in a pyrex measuring cup and then nuked it. It took longer than stated in the recipe (but then it WASN'T Polander).

Also, since I had to nuke for a longer period, it took longer to cool but it was worth waiting for as it did so much to improve the flavor and consistency.

Hope it works well for you. thumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif

P.S. I just noticed that you're also a "naturally born sweetheart" as my twin likes to say - we share the same birthday!

Thank you ! Thank you! I really appreciate your speed and kindness in posting so quickly. I bought some fantastic new Jell-o fusion flavors and thought they might give a special kick to a filling. Great Tip BTW! icon_biggrin.gif

It's nice to meet another Birthday Buddy!
Thank you again!

Not only am I greatful that Jan H. was able to assist with my search but also that it helped someone else. FYI Jello has a few new flavors that may add a special zing to a kiddie cake. I am looking forward to trying a few of them out to see which combinations taste the best. I am not sure if they are available all over yet but I imagine that if my town has them others should too. The flavors that I found recently are called "Fusions" There is "Blackberry Fusion" which is a blend of Blackberry and Raspberry flavors, "Tropical Fusion" a blend of Cherry,Orange and Pineapple, and "Melon Fusion" a blend of Watermelon, Honeydew, and Cantelope flavors. I am going to try a less flavorful jam so that the strong flavors that are a little exotic pop a bit more and see what happens. It's nice to have something unique that tastes fantastic too for the kids parties. Good luck on your up and coming cake OhMyGoodies.
